I am from the
sunburnt country
Where water is gold
I'm from the air conditined coolness inside
Not the searing heat rising from the tarmac!
I am from the lucky country
Where shopping centres still ring to the tune of the tills
But warnings of recession blare from the tv
I'm from the
Jacaranda tree
And the
Gum tree where the Kookaburras sit to wake us up in the morning
I’m from nightfall when Crickets serenade us
I’m from
old Blighty , Edna and Bill on the farm, walking on cobbles
as well as Elsie and Fred from the Land down under
I’m from what they call a
‘melting pot’ but know that it’s not!
I’m from a
flat world,
The dawn of the digital age and I’m waiting for my friends to jump in too!
